Willow Bird Feeders
Workshop for creating a spiral bird feeder.
Learn traditional willow crafting techniques, using buff willow, and create your own spiral bird feeder. Ideal for hand-made fat balls - (recipe included)!
Weaving with willow can be quite challenging for the hands. An alternative natural fibre, rattan, will be available if anyone find the willow challenging. This workshop may not be suitable for people who experience mobility issues with their hands however.
🌿The buff willow is sourced from a family-run business that has grown and supplied sustainable willow for over a century.
What tools and equipment do I need?

This workshop is suitable for beginners as well as those with some experience.

Gina Dyer
I am a multi-disciplinary artist who has been practicing and teaching art and craft activities for over 25 years. My background is in outdoor celebratory arts events such as festivals and carnivals. I have had the privilege to experiment and play with many different creative modalities that feed into this industry. Anything from needlework to giant processional puppets and willow sculptures and lots of creative modalities in-between!
I have always been a very creative person and just love learning new skills, constantly developing my creative practice.
What I am most passionate about is passing on my creative knowledge and skills to others and seeing them explore and develop their own passion for creativity and discover the joy and fulfilment that the arts can bring. Which in turn can help improve our mental, physical and emotional wellbeing.
