Quay Arts Closures

From time to time it may be necessary for us to close the café  for a wedding or private function. Please ring the centre on 01983 822490 or check the website or our social media pages before visiting.

Do I have to pay to visit the exhibitions?

All our exhibitions are free to visit.

Is there parking nearby?

There is a council owned car park situated in Sea Street to the front of the building, and a privately run car park situated to the side in Little London. Parking charges apply.

Ticketing

I am no longer able to attend an event, or bought a ticket in error. Can I get a refund? 

Once purchased, tickets cannot be transferred, exchanged, refunded or returned unless the event is cancelled, moved to another date, or if details of the event are significantly changed. In the event of the cancellation of an event we will only refund the face value of the ticket. We will use best endeavours to contact purchasers either by phone, email or in writing (using the details provided at the time of ordering) to advise of the refund.

Why do I need to pay a box office fee?

Our goal is to provide an excellent personal service to our customers and to do this requires a lot of resource. The booking fee we levy contributes to the cost of running the Quay Arts Centre, its Box Office and Box Office systems. As a charitable not for profit organisation all income is used to support the delivery of arts and cultural activities to our local community. This fee applies to tickets for events bought in advance and on the door.

Do I need to print my ticket?

Quay Arts encourages customer not to print tickets - preferring e-tickets to be shown on a mobile device.

Accessibility

Can I attend an event in the theatre if I am a wheelchair user? 

The first floor of the venue can be accessed via our lift. Our theatre has a limited amount of allocated spaces available for wheelchair users.  However - in some instances we may be able to provide space to the side of the stage area depending on the performance. Please ring the Box Office team on 01983 822490 or send an e-mail to [email protected] for assistance.

Do you have accessible toilets available at the venue? 

Both floors at Quay Arts have accessible toilet areas available to use. The ground floor accessible toilet also contains facilities for baby changing.

Do you have any information available to help me plan my visit in advance?

Visiting

How do I access the building for evening events?

The shop entrance to the centre is closed after 4pm, access to the centre is via the side terrace entrance in Little London after this time.

Are dogs allowed on the premises?

Yes - but we do ask that dogs are kept on a leash at all times throughout your visit. Please do not bring your dog to an event in the Theatre- thank you. 

Are your galleries always open to the general public?

Yes - they are open daily and free to visit. However, there will be times when the galleries are closed for exhibition changeovers. Please check the website for exhibition dates before planning your visit to the centre.
