Retrospectrum
Retrospectrum showcases the multidisciplinary creative work of writer and artist, Fran Heath.
Fran is a writer of literary fiction, and the author and illustrator of comics, a children's picture book about the gender stereotyping of toys, and a compilation of her daily dream drawings. Influenced by abstraction and surrealism, she creates distinctive paintings using geometric shapes, block colours, and hard edges on canvas board. Fran also makes boxed 3D models she calls Dire-Ramas, incorporating retro doll's house furniture, unusual secondhand finds, and her own small sculptures. Drawn to the surreal, humorous and nostalgic, inspiration for a Dire-Rama often begins with the objects themselves.
