Monthly Retro Computing & Gaming Meetup

The Isle of Wight Vintage Computer Club is a brand‑new monthly meetup celebrating classic computer hardware and retro gaming. We’re bringing vintage computers and consoles back to life for a relaxed, hands‑on evening of play, chat, and nostalgia.

What to Expect
This is a small‑scale, friendly event that we hope to grow into a regular fixture for the island’s retro and vintage computing community.
We’ll have a selection of vintage computers and classic consoles already set up and ready to go. You’re also very welcome to bring your own retro hardware—whether it’s something you’re proud of, a rare curiosity, or just a system others should experience.
We’ll have CRT TVs and monitors available for plugging in your kit.
Whether you grew up with 8‑bit and 16‑bit classics or just want to see what you missed, this is a laid‑back space to play, share stories, and enjoy the machines and games that shaped us.

Recent Highlights
So far, we’ve had:
A broken Amiga and NES brought back to life
Amstrad CPC 464
BBC Micros
An Archimedes from Bletchley Park
Spectrum Next
Mega Drive
Multiple Amigas
Serious whooping on Speedball 2
A MiSTer setup on the projector for high‑score challenges

The Vibe
We are enthusiastic and hugely nerdy, but there is absolutely zero gatekeeping. Everyone is welcome, regardless of experience level.
Children are welcome, but must always be accompanied by an adult.
The seminar room is just through the main café, and Del keeps the bar open for us. Entry is free thanks to Quay Arts, so if you can, we suggest grabbing at least a Coke from the bar (no expectations!).
