Contemporary Jewellery: Materials, Form & Connection
Workshop for exploring contemporary jewellery making.
A hands-on introduction to contemporary jewellery making, exploring material, texture and construction jewellery through cutting, forming and cold connection techniques, with tutor Becca Charlo. Working with a combination of metal and reclaimed materials, including repurposed plastics, participants will explore how simple forms can be transformed into wearable pieces through cutting, shaping and joining. The session offers an introduction to jewellery as a design-led practice, with a focus on proportion, composition and finish.
Participants will create either a pendant, or a small constructed piece, which can be finished as earrings or a brooch. This workshop is centred around material reuse, creative sustainability and thoughtful making. No prior jewellery experience is required.
