Make your own carnival backpack in our Free Family Art Drop-In with New Carnival Company.

Join New Carnival artists to make a simple carnival backpack using sustainable materials. Choose your own theme and create a unique design, learn to use willow, tissue and fabric to create your backpack elements. From fairy or dragon wings, flags, rainbows and anything else you can think of – learn how to make these versatile costume elements that extend from your body.

This drop-in is part of New Carnival Company's West Gallery exhibition 'Our Folktastic Isle' open Saturday 28th February to Monday 6th April 2026, which is free entry and open daily. Find out more HERE.
