Let’s illustrate comics!
Rope Store – 12:30 – 13:15
Graphic novelist Meg will be talking about her book Dancing With Lights, how she works as an illustrator and how you can too!
Deep in the north, a small village of cats live out their days in a clifftop village. They fish, create goods from leather and other materials, but most importantly – every night they paint the northern lights in the sky.
Over the years, the lights have grown larger and more colourful, covering up the stars beneath them. Their sister race, the star hoppers, requested that the light-painters allow the stars to show more; but Foxglove, the leader of the light-painters, rejected their request and retaliated by covering the stars with her lights. After trying to reason with their leader, Oakley and Sorrel, two light- painters – resolve to journey out to the star-painters home to save the northern lights.

The IW Story Festival.
It’s a special place for children and families to have fun together; where we can all CREATE, INSPIRE and IMAGINE.
Stories are all around us; not just in books and poems and plays and songs, but also in the news and history and the places we live. Over three days, the IW Story Festival lets you get lost in stories of all kinds…
What stories will you bring with you?
