An Evening of “Beyond the Title” with Josh Barry

Sat 29 March Sat 29 March

March 29th 2025

Cafe / Bar open from 18:00
Doors 19:00
Onstage from 19:30

Since 2016, writer and County Press columnist Josh Barry has been the driving force behind the boutique entertainment podcast Beyond The Title, interviewing over two hundred of Britain’s best loved stars from comedy legends the late great Barry Cryer, Tim Brooke-Taylor and Jimmy Tarbuck to the stars of today including Mo Gilligan, Adam Hills and Rosie Jones. As a whole, these interviews tell a story of our collective cultural journey through pop culture.

A podcast isn’t the most obvious platform for a writer with Cerebral Palsy who has severe speech difficulties. However, with the help of his experienced team of PAs, Josh has now conquered the podcast medium and now wants to share his conclusions about fame in 21st century. Accompanied by the writer and television historian Dick Fiddy, Josh will relive some of his favourite moments from the treasure trove of Beyond The Title, share anecdotes from his time with some of the most famous people in Britain and draw his own conclusions about the concept of fame. This will also include a book signing of Josh’s latest book. So join Josh and Dick as they aim to tell the story of British Light Entertainment as you’ve never heard it before.

DONATE TO QUAY ARTS

Even a little money can make a big difference at Quay Arts

Did you realise that when you buy a cup of freshly ground barista coffee in our Café Bar, you are helping to support the cultural life of the Isle of Wight?

However, the generosity of our supporters goes beyond sales of food, drink and theatre tickets. Gifts of money, time, and even specific items make a huge difference to the amount of work we can do. Together, we can continue to enrich the lives of islanders and visitors with our fantastic programme of events.
