Quay Arts’ Youth Offer: SECOND WAVE

Quay Arts is one of 12 organisations awarded funding by the Isle of Wight Council to deliver youth provision from April 2017 to the end of March 2018. Quay Arts is offering young people aged  11 – 19 years  (and up to 25 years with additional needs) a wide variety of creative arts activities lead by practicing artists.

We offer free places to young people who have been referred to us as well as heavily subsidised places for young people who are interested in giving our workshops a go.

To register for Second WAVE, please contact Jeni Saunders, Project Manager for Second WAVE j.saunders@quayarts.org

Gallery Response Projects

Small groups of young people referred through island agencies and schools visit an exhibition in one of our galleries and go on to work alongside artists to create their own exhibition in response.

We have funding to work with one group to offer a Gallery Response Project which will be on display later this year in the Clayden Gallery.

ARTS AWARD SUMMER SCHOOOL

During the school summer  holidays,  we will be running a series of fun, exploratory workshops, led by artists Ian Whitmore and Hannah George, which will help you to gain an Arts Award (Discover or  Explore). You will be inspired by artworks in our Summer Open exhibition, “I must down to the seas again” and produce your own work to take home with you.

EXISTING PROVISION FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

These workshops can be booked straight away, there is no release date since they are part of our existing provision.

There are a limited number of Second WAVE places. Book now to avoid disappointment. Second WAVE is Quay Arts’ Youth Offer funded by the Isle of Wight Council and available to young people aged 11 – 19 years who live on the Island.
