Spring is in the air and Acoustic Originals is buzzing! Join us on Monday 26 March in the Quay Arts Café Bar for a very special and varied line-up of acts performing some fantastic original music, just for you!
Max William – Promising to play for rum and a comfy seat, 19 year old Max says he has a punk rock heart despite living on a sedimentary rock island. His heartfelt, acoustic style is compelling and we’re really looking forward to his Acoustic Originals debut. http://maxwilliam.bandcamp.com/
Louise Jordan – A young singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist rapidly making an impact on the UK acoustic music scene, Louise has a purity of voice which melts the toughest of hearts and carries the listener away from the humdrum and mediocrity of daily life. www.louisejordan.co.uk
Doug Alldred – Emerging from behind the drum kit where he resides for Weatherkings, Rachel's Reason, Dr Jones & the Blunt Instruments and STD, Doug Alldred will be donning his song-writing hat and debuting both his new acoustic band and some songs from his forthcoming album. Paul Armfield – Hailed as the ‘heir apparent to deathless troubadours such as Tim Hardin’ by Gavin Martin in the Daily Mirror, 43 year old Paul has received much critical acclaim for his ‘hobby’ especially for his self-translated renditions of lesser known Brel numbers. His song ‘Flagbearers’ is soon to be included on the next Folk Against Fascism compilation. http://www.paularmfield.com/
The Scores – The four-piece formed in 2007 from a long musical partnership between vocalist/guitarist Bob Craig and vocalist/bassist Robert Carr. Their catchy rock sound infused with great vocal harmonies has earned them a well-deserved place at the heart of the local scene. The band is currently writing new material, recording and gigging around the Isle of Wight and Southern UK. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekK2PH0Lpy4
Doors at 7pm with performances from 8pm – entry is absolutely FREE and the bar will be open serving hot and cold drinks all evening. At last, a reason to love Mondays!
