Come and take part in the World’s Biggest Drawing Festival – The Big Draw – at Quay Arts!
To celebrate this year’s theme, “Every Drawing Tells a Story”, Quay Arts is running a FREE community drawing event in the Learning Curve Gallery, on Sat 10 Oct, 1-4pm. It will be led by Ventnor artist, Joanna Kori, winner of our OPEN 2015 exhibition. The event is supported by The Daisie Rich Trust and is suitable for all artistic levels, ages, individuals, pairs, groups and families. All materials are provided.
Our fantastic new exhibition ‘The Drawing Process’, funded by The Arts Council, also opens that day and is full of famous artists’ unseen drawings. We’d like you to come along and choose your favourite from the exhibition and then tell us your own story about it on our Gigantic Storyboard! You will be doodling / drawing your story with others onto a length of calico not quite as long as the Bayeux Tapestry – but as long as we can fit into the gallery!
The Gigantic Storyboard will continue to be displayed at Quay Arts afterwards and we will enter it for a Big Draw Award. So roll up your artistic sleeves, and come and give us your best story drawings!
Sat 10 Oct, 1 – 4pm, FREE, All ages, Children must be accompanied.
