Stompin’ Dave’s Blues3 brings together three of the UK’s top blues and roots musicians. Award winning drummer Sam Kelly, larger than life personality Earl Jackson, and multi-instrumentalist tornado tap dancer Stompin’ Dave Allen.

Stompin’ Dave Allen – vocals/guitar/banjo/harmonica/piano. A master of all kinds of American roots music, ranging from bluegrass to electric blues guitar and boogie piano. With 25 years of performing experience, Dave has worked exclusively as a musician and performed across the UK and beyond including major festivals including Glastonbury, Bestival, and Camp Bestival. A former member of former UK blues band of the year The Producers, Stompin’ Dave was nominated for a British Blues Award in the acoustic act category 2014.

“A downright genius.”  Blues In Britain

“A master …a true original”  The Daily Telegraph.

Dave and Sam’s first album together Live From The Sticks, released in 2015, received excellent reviews. Blues In Britain describing the disc as “a rampaging set of electric blues” and praising “the rapport and sheer enjoyment of these two fine musicians operating in tandem.” Blues Matters concluded the album was “nothing short of classic juke-joint blues from the sticks.”

Earl Jackson – vocals/bass/guitar. Well known on the British Rock’n’Roll circuit with appearances on BBC TV including The Jonathan Ross Show. Earl has for many years been causing a sensation across the UK and Europe appearing as Chuck Berry in the popular theatre show Rockin’ On Heavens Door. Earl was awarded Best Blues Singer by The Jools Holland Boisdale Music Awards 2017.

“Entertainment with a capital ‘e’“  The Mad Rat Magazine.

Sam Kelly – drums. Five times blues drummer of the year and voted into the Blues in Britain ‘Gallery of the Greats’, Sam has recorded and performed with artists such as Gary Moore, Robert Plant, Dr. John, Ruby Turner, Paul Jones Imelda May and many others. In 2014 Sam was awarded first place in the drummer category for Blues Matters Writer’s Poll and named runner up in the British Blues Award’s 2016.

Support comes from popular Island Country-Blues band Red Sqwrl.

Indigenous to the Island, Red Sqwrl are a Country Blues string band with a laid back Café Orchestra style who perform traditional and original material steeped in the music from the era of jug-bands, Memphis Minnie, the ragtime & blues of Blind Boy Fuller, Fred McDowell and others.

Red Sqwrl are: Clive Thomas (guitar, vocals), Becky Haydock (violin), Tim Hollis (bass), Dave Hollis (harmonica), Joe Wolton (drums/percussion/cajon).
