As part of Quay Arts’ 40th anniversary celebrations this year, we’re hosting the largest ever Isle of Wight Arts Open Studios Showcase Exhibition in the West Gallery!

Each July, artists and craft makers/designers from all over the Isle of Wight open their studios, homes or exhibit in public venues over 11 days for Isle of Wight Arts Open Studios event.

Open Studios is a free event and offers a warm welcome to view and purchase a great range of work including painting, sculpture, print-making, photography, textiles, jewellery and ceramics. Visitors have the opportunity to meet local artists, see their work and find out more about the techniques they use and the passions which inspire them.

For artists, Open Studios is a unique opportunity to manage their own event, exhibit work and demonstrate their working processes. The majority of artworks are for sale, covering all price ranges.

Around half of all artists participating in IW Open Studios 2016 are exhibiting as part of the Showcase in the West Gallery, representing a wide range of mediums from across the entire Island.

The Showcase exhibition will launch the IW Open Studios event on Saturday 9th July, 5 – 7pm in the West Gallery, celebrating the breadth and diversity the Island’s arts community have to offer.

Works are for sale throughout the Showcase exhibition and the Open Studios yearbook will be available to pick up for free from the gallery, containing details of all artists taking part in Open Studios and where to find them.
