With Hannah George
Thursday 16th & Friday 17th August / 10am – 3pm / £90 / £85*
In this two-day workshop you will be introduced to a selection of paper sculpting and folding techniques from which we will create a paper sampler showcasing the different methods and paper types. We will create small samples of origami, nets for 3d shapes, paper cutting, wet paper moulding, pleating and more. We will look at a range of different papers and their possible applications and celebrate paper as not only a surface to draw on but as an exciting lively medium with limitless creative possibilities.
Hannah George is a community artist, illustrator and maker and has been a part of Quay Arts’ education team for a number of years. As a maker she has been working in paper investigating its sculptural applications, most recently in a series of moulded paper faces for her piece ‘Isabella de Fortibus’ in the Isle of Wight Hidden Heroes exhibition. Her work often uses a limited palette of whites, blacks and gold.
