Introduction to Weaving with Jo James

This course offers an accessible opportunity to engage creatively through textile material and explore the process of weaving. On day one you will explore a series of weaving techniques using a small louet frame loom (available to purchase for an additional cost of £25 if desired). On day two you will utilise small found objects from urban and coastal sites to provide inspired additions to small reclaimed driftwood wall hangings. Suitable for beginners and those looking for an introduction to weaving.
Meet the Tutor
Jo James is a textile artist living on the Isle of Wight. She has studied a MA in Visual Communication (2018) and BA Hons Interior Design (2016) at Solent University Southampton. Her research is concerned with the Wellbeing associated with hand craft work. Influences include Anni Albers and contemporary weaving practice.
