Meet the Tutor
Nick Martin is a figurative painter and his work is based on drawing as the underlying structure. He concentrates mainly on portraits taking the form of hinged panel paintings, influenced by 14th and 15th century altar pieces. He also uses the principles of impressionist colour mixing to enhance colour with simultaneous complimentary colours, allowing the eye to mix shades and hues. Nick teaches life drawing and runs the new Portfolio Preparation course at Quay Arts.
