Shibori is the traditional art of resist on fabric which is then dipped several times in an Indigo vat. In this two day workshop you will be introduced to a variety of Shibori techniques to create different patterns on natural fabrics which will include stitch, fold, wrap and bind. Each technique will be individually demonstrated with samples both from the tutor’s personal antique collection as well as examples of her own work. You will create samples developed from each technique – these will then be dyed in the traditional indigo vat to create a wide range of beautiful blues and pattern. These samples can be added to your own sample book for future reference.
