Colours from Nature – Dye, Print, Draw with Melanie Swan
Fri 23, Sat 24 & Sun 25 Aug / 10 – 4pm / £ 130 / £125*
The workshop is an introduction to the gentle art of dyeing with plants, an exciting way to bring colour to natural textiles. Students will learn how to prepare and use fresh and dried plant materials, being guided through key dyeing processes including the preparation of textiles and yarns. Students will explore the wonderful variations in colour which can be achieved from each dyebath, producing a range of finished pieces and samples to support future dyeing projects.
There will opportunities to see how the processes can be used for printing with dyes, making natural inks and colouring handmade papers.
