Origins Theatre presents its authentic and entertaining re-creation of ‘Charles Dickens: Storyteller’ – capturing the atmosphere and energy that captivated audiences during Dickens’ own time. Dickens was not just the greatest novelist Britain produced (in our humble opinion), he was also famed for the energy and enthusiasm with which he read extracts of his own stories.
In the first half of our evening, Mr Dickens will entertain you with anecdotes about his life, and extracts from some of his best loved stories, and will set the scene for the second half – an atmospheric stage adaptation of his ghost story, The Signalman… Origins Theatre’s production has sold out wherever it has been staged, so don’t miss it!
A Victorian traveller encounters a signalman working in a deep and isolated railway cutting. He seems disturbed, but is this a consequence of his isolation, or is there another cause?
