Mon, 30 Jul 2012

In collaboration with Acoustic Originals and High Tide Poets, Quay Arts plays host to an evening of carefully selected live performances. With inspiring music, comedy, spoken word and interactive arts, the artwork in The West Gallery, 360° - A Panorama, is used as a backdrop, showcasing acts responding to the work in an exciting and multidisciplinary way (and some other stuff that we just really like!). 360º - LIVE! is also an end-show event for the exhibition Estuary and mid-way party for 360º - A Panorama. Come and join the fun!

The line-up so far includes awarding-winning acts by poets, performers and musicians from the Island and beyond!

They include ....
Poet and performer extraordinaire Frog Morris,
Spoken word sensation and actor Joe Bone,
Legendary improvisational music from The Adventurists,

Musical delights from JC and his crew, Beachcomber, Blackhouse Crow, 2ndTA and Weatherkings and more!
As we move about the gallery, expect to be taken on a journey where order and chaos collide to create a truly memorable evening.

First inspired through David Hockney’s ‘A Bigger Picture’ exhibition at the Royal Academy in March 2012, 360° - A Panorama in The West Gallery is an exciting project funded by the Ernest Cook Trust. Working collaboratively over a two week period, 250 students from Island Schools, artist Tim Johnson, Quay Arts’ Young Curators and Studio Quay students and a series of guest artists, use diverse approaches to transform the gallery space into a 360° panoramic landscape! '360° - A Panorama' aims to investigate our relationship with the landscape in the 21st Century from the standpoint of artist, student and visitor.
