Filmed over three years, this documentary by Bruno Wollheim is an unprecedented record of a major artist at work. It captures David Hockney’s return to England after 25 years in California. As he approaches the age of 70, he decides to re-invent his painting from scratch, working through the seasons and in all weather out in the Yorkshire countryside – ending up with the largest picture ever made outdoors. Booking recommended. (Actual run time: 60 mins / Including bonus material: 115 mins)
Starting with David Hockney’s ‘A Bigger Picture’ 2012 exhibition as a catalyst, our final exhibition of this season, 360° - A Panorama in The West Gallery also investigates our relationship with the landscape in the 21st Century. In collaboration with Acoustic Originals and High Tide Poets, Quay Arts will play host to an exciting evening of live performance responding to the work in The West Gallery for one night only. Don’t miss 360° - LIVE on Mon 30 Jul!
