Welcome to Quay Arts 10th annual Summer School programme, an opportunity for you to spend an intensive few days discovering or rediscovering the joy of painting, drawing or making, across a broad choice of courses.

Hand-building and throwing techniques will be covered in this workshop. For those with experience, Sue will help you improve your skills and take a look at the development of your work to explore 'what next'? Two consecutive days of making can help with the workability of clay, and to move your work forward. Suitable for all levels of ability. Porcelain and stoneware clays will be provided as well as coloured slips and oxides. Return on a drop-in session in September if you wish yto glaze your work.

We are celebrating Quay Arts 10th Summer School by offering our course students an exciting opportunity to showcase the work they create, in a special exhibition in our Rope Store Gallery. This experimental exhibition, curated by our Exhibitions Organiser, will grow and evolve throughout August as each Summer School course comes to an end. The opportunity to exhibit is entirely optional for students.

Sue Paraskeva is a potter and artist who has been practising professionally since graduating in1995. She shows her one-off pieces and porcelain tableware nationally and internationally and also creates public art and installations.   Most recently her work has included a film of the dramatic creation process which she applies to her pieces after they are perfectly thrown.

Sue relocated from London to the Isle of Wight for a residency and teaches regular workshops for Quay Arts at Jubilee Stores. Working from her own studio in Ryde, she is keen to inspire others and further her own artistic creations. www.sueparaskeva.co.uk
